Experiment I: Insteon

Jon was curious if we could skip the Insteon chip and use some of the functions on the MPC5200. To that end, we decided to do a little experiment. We decided to build a board that can attach to an expansion card of a Phytec board that had Insteon on it as well as some bypass signals that could be routed to the MPC5200. The idea here was to build a fully functioning Insteon modem, study its responses and then see if we couldn't mimic those responses with the MPC5200.

This seemed like a perfect opportunity to also get a little experience making a PCB board. We ended up manufacturing the board at Imagineering

The circuit has been designed. The boards have been manufactured. The parts have been purchased and I am in the process of building up the first board. I will post some pictures of the boards as soon as I get a clear picture from my camera.
